Er, what are you expecting apart from public swimming pools and beaches? Rivers? People with private swimming pools to make them available to you? Very big bathtubs?

U Beat me to the post...was about to say that there would be Hotels and other similar eatablishments that would offer membership and allow you the use of their pool, health clubs, discounts at restaurants etc. Fitness Clubs....maybe though all may not have a swimming pool to call their own but may have some deals. Maybe you'd wanna check with the hotels first...they generally have such deals.

Not sure bout this though but there are also some clubs like the Yacht club, Kowloon cricket club etc etc, which also have swimming pools. Memeberships for these can be pretty steep though!

One place on HK Island you may want to check out is To Tei Wan. It is in Tai Tam Bay and you can see it from Stanely Main.
Its main claim to fame besiides possibly being the most secluded beach in Hong Kong [think skinny dipping] Is that its Hobie Cat HQ

The best beach in HK is by far and away Ham Tin Wan (Tai Long Wan) It is located on the eastern side of the New Territories in Sai Kung Country Park. You must hike in order to get there, or take a boat, there are no roads. Great seclusion. Mountainous outcroppings creating 4 seperate beach coves with clear blue water, and a terraced hillside great for camping overlookin the water. It is simply amazing, and rated one of the best surfing spots in China. http://tailongwan.org/index_e.htm

    tai long wan

Tai Long Wan also reckoned to have some dodgy currents; no lifeguards; some people have drowned.
So, maybe need care if you're gonna swim here.
But, doesn't answer the baffling question of where to swim if not beach or swimming pool.
(reservoir? - not legal, and maybe not always pleasant. A few pools in streams, tho more for splashing. Shing Mun River if you won't dissolve and you're not scared of all manner of illnesses.
Join the [all elderly?] folk who go for morning swim opposite Green Island, nw HK Island.
Or as berryplucker pretty much suggested, just get yourself a monster jaccuzzi )

Or take up mahjong - known as swimming on dry land (for shifting pieces around)
