Gay and dragqueen in Hong Kong - where to buy WIGS?

    okey - here it goes:

Me and my boyfriend are visiting Hong Kong next year and we are interested in dragshow and dragqueens. Is it possible to buy WIGS, sequine dresses, jewelry , makeup and other dragqueen stuff in Hong Kong?

can you recommend any places that have tha above products? Especially wigs!

We have this list of recommendations: Which one in your opinion is absolutely best?

    1) Temple St, Hong Kong 188 temple street.

    2) Lily Wigs, Rm 703 Carnarvon Plaza, Tsim Sha Tsui

    3) A shop in Empire Center(?) in TST East, right when you walk
towards Ruth's Chris on the g/f level.

    4) Fifth Avenue 1/F Tung Ying Bldg 15-17 Cameron Rd, TST
    Tel: 2368 2628

    5) Mongkok market

    6) Beauti Hair Centre Rm C, 16th Floor, Cameron Plaza, Tsim Sha Tsui

    7) A unknow wig store on pottinger street (name unknown)

Are there any more wig shops or dragqueen accessorary shops we should know about in Hong Kong?

Also - is there any bars with dragshow entertainment?

How is the dragshowculture in Hong Kong? Does it exist? Where does one go to see good and funny shows? For example in Phuket, Thailand there is Simon Cabaret - Whats the biggest dragshow in Hong Kong?

And about being gay - is that okay and accepted in Hong Kong?

Looking forward to visit Hong Kong.

    Kind regards

    Jonny

There was one drag queen interviewed in Time Out magazine a few months ago. It's not mainstream entertainment here though.

that s quite a lot of info you have on hand already, how many wigs do you need actually?
as for being gay, i personally think it s quite accepted here in general.
and dragshow, i know there is a pride for each year, perhaps you can check out the FB page and ask the members. i m sure they know better.

Dragshows/ drag culture's becoming increasingly popular in Hong Kong. Head out to "Volume" (a gay lounge, up near Hollywood Road) on weekends... you can meet La Chiquita there - probably the biggest name in drag in HK. If she isn't there, speak with Evan Steer (the DJ/Owner) and he can point you in the right direction.

Coco Pop's another name that comes to mind, but she mainly just works with the chinese speaking community here as I understand... and there's Lovely Cox, who you can meet at Tivo on the first sunday of every month. There's a few others, but I can't remember their names... there was also an "make me a supermodel" version of drag queens here to bring in some new faces into the drag culture here All in all, the scene is becoming bigger and bigger. you'll have plenty of fun, i'm sure!
