    Winter

I have heard that this year the winter's gonna be really cold and arrive earlier, the weather today and the fact that it has already snowed in north china are the harbinger of it.
I know those of you who are from cold countries would laugh at the winter in HK but trust me those who have lived here would confirm that in winters its colder inside the house than outside. I recently moved in to a new apartment and now regretting the fact that the bathroom sink has only cold water, which giving me shivers already when I think of brushing my teeth and shaving my face in those cold wintery monrings.
I hope you all are well prepared for the winter this year, I know I am not .

The story in The Standard today quotes Hong Kong Observatory director Lee Boon-ying: "... it is too early to determine whether the coming winter - from December to February - will be colder than usual".

    F.A.O. gunsnroses:

If running hot water is not available, regardless of the season, I always use hot water when shaving my beard.

Word is that this will be the coldest October in 10 years. Nothing about winter yet. I wouldn't sweat it.

Why did you move into an apartment which only has a cold tap in the bathroom sink for?

May be it's not gonna be extra cold but it reminds me of the winter of 2007-08 when it snowed a lot in China and consequently HK had really cold winters...

Very funny. Of course I'd like to use hot running water for my shave, else I dont' get a good shave.

Because I liked the rest of the apartment and the feel in it, and didnt pay proper attention. I know it's rather daft, but it's done and I am pretty mad about it.

Boiling water in a kettle produces a hot liquid which can then be used for shaving.

Alternatively, if you think it will be a very cold winter, perhaps you can consider not shaving for the extra warm a beard may produce. The winter of 10-11 could be your "Grizzly Adams" era.

Yeah I do that from time to time, but, aparently ladies in HK don't appreciate a bearded man .
