The OP should note, again, that this is against the law. Yes, some people do it. Some get away with it, some don't. Each person should decide whether it is worth the consequences if caught.

Or wait, are you just trying to make a petty point by using a hyperbole?

I've been away from the computer and got to read all your posts this am.
So if the law is that your sponsored helper has to live with you, then so be it.
I would rather follow the law and not worry versus have a live-out helper, and constantly wonder when immi will come over.
I know someone that has a full-time live-in helper, but when he work is all done, she is free to go and do what ever she wants: ie work part-time for someone else......
Having the helper sleep in the kid's room is not even an option.
Thanks for all your input, much appreciated!!

if she works part-time for someone else and gets caught, BOTH you and she will be in trouble for violating the terms of her visa.

    it is completely ILLEGAL.

It's also institutionalised racism, so it's one of the rare occasions when I (and many other people) happily do something that is illegal.

on this i disagree with you. ANYONE on a work permit is ONLY allowed to work for their sponsoring employer... this is also the case with those holding FDH visas...

if you want to talk about racism against helpers, why don't you get riled up that they can live here for 20 years and STILL not be eligible for PR? THAT irks me no end.
