Unhappy Lost In Taxi : Macbook Air Reward 1000$

Lost my Macbook Air in a taxi today (November 26 2010)

It was in a black bag together with a CD Drive, an external hard disc and a mouse.

I was leaving the taxi at Central Plaza in Wan Chai around 8:05 in the morning.

If you have found it, please please please return it.

Reward 1000 HK$ and lots of good Karma.

Have you notified the police? Did you get a receipt for your taxi ride - it might have their number on it.

    Hi,

Thanks for your help. I already made a police report and I called the taxi hotline. The taxi hotline hasn't called me back yet.

Unfortunately no receipt from the taxi. I have a feeling the taxi drivers probably didn't even notice and the next passenger took it.

Don't give up hope yet. Low value items are easier to steal I think - higher value items you have to be much more dishonest to keep ... which increases your chances!

Thank you. I hope you are right.I also have to remember to not keep the back-up disc in the same place as the computer. Not the best idea.

    Or SugarSync.

Here's a thread with a bunch of referral links for both:

Yes, but having said that if someone was going to steal a Macbook Air (worth I guess at least $5000?) then the offer of $1000 isn't likely to change their mind, and if they weren't going to steal it then you'd have got it back anyway...
