    LOHAS Park

    Anybody currently living there?

I'm considering taking up a rental there. Was just there today took a look at a few flats in Le Prestige (領都). They were decent sized flats with 3 bedrooms and the rents were reasonable.

However, I do have some reservations. Firstly, I've been reading about the impact of the nearby landfill and the smells emanating from there. But when I was there today, I didn't notice any odors albeit it was a cool and wet day.

When I was inside the flats I did notice a slight smell in two of the flats but I wasn't sure if was it due to the new paint or lack of fresh air circulating in the apartment or if it was just my mind/nose playing tricks on me because of when I read.

Is the landfill/smell issue a real problem or has it been hyped up? Can anyone living there share their experiences. I don't want to take up a lease only to find out later I've made a big mistake.

Also, I notice there's a lot of construction work going on. How bad is the noise situation?

I'd also appreciate any other thoughts about the neighborhood both good and bad.

The smell is more noticeable in the summer and depending on which way the wind is blowing.

    Personally I'd avoid the place.

jimbo, do you live in the neighborhood? Is your comment firsthand experience or hearsay? Does it help if I keep the windows closed or is really that bad?

It's common knowledge and I took a look at the development last summer. Over priced and also the rooms are tiny.

have been living in TKO for decades...i would prefer Hang Hau or Sai Kung rather than lohas park, for better transportation (hang hau) or fresher air (sai kung)
