Interesting stuff ..
I don't get it ..Higher percentage of population ties the knot
The proportion of never-married people among the male population of age 15 and over dropped from 34.2% in 1996 to 33.9% in 2001, but rose to 34.3% in 2006. The figure for women was 28.9% in 1996, rising to 30.1% in 2001 and to 30.7% in 2006.
I completely misread that quote... I guess the number fell and then rose back (to what I think is statistically insignificant numbers).
Also, if you combine the male and female population the number could have gone up by 1 percent...
Weird though that the calculate the age from 15. Would be interesting if they revealed number of married kids between the ages of 15 and 18.
