    I don't get bored here.
    I can't face moving again.
Things are going well here career wise.
    It's safe.
My wife's friends and family are here and that's gradually becoming the same for me.
I have peeps in Europe and Australia, it's central!!
I'm not tall, but here I'm not short either! When I lived in Denmark, I felt like a dwarf.
I think I'm eating healthier without really trying!

better job opportunities (for me anyway)
i like the city life when ever i want it, i can nip down to the streets and get a midnight snack if im hungry.
but when i want some quietness i can head into the countryside for some hiking
food is great, so much choices to choose from!
very safe for being a city with a population of 7million
all in all, it's a better city to live in than my home country in the Uk.

The combination of below made me stay here:
    1) Its the best city (urban, not rural) that I know of to raise kids for safety.
    2) Its the only city I know of that you can take a 5 min taxi ride, for less than $5USD and be in a country park.
    3) Excellent opportunities for jobs
    4) Exciting food and entertainment
    5) Light fingered government

Short and Sweet : we love it here.

By "light fingered" I take it you don't mean "skillful at stealing". There are some governments in the region who are much more skillful at that than here.

*smile* No, I was not alluding to 5 finger discounts *smile*
What I was trying to say was HKG government is relatively hidden/quiet/in background. For the most part, they leave well enough alone and we are not subjected to too many laws and restrictions.

AH, lightbulb time : The word I was looking for is "Laissez Faire"

It's safe, it's dynamic and diverse. A great location to explore the rest of Asia. Good job opportunities and pay. I have a great set of friends and back home everyone seems full of doom and gloom (UK).

I don't if this is a permanent stay in HK, but its a great city to live in.

The only thing that might send me away is the pollution and if I saw any effects in my daughter, then I might feel its time to move on.

I got married 7 years back and came here. In 6 years I got used to this place, made friends, got a job. Got divorced last year but anyways decided to stay as probably that is the best for me. Very comfortable here, though I must admit I miss my country sometimes.

Not in Australia. It's booming there. But there are plenty of large new holes dug out of the ground because of the mining boom.
