    Hiroshima Joe, by the same author, is also a good read - set in HKG in the late 1940s. Lots of flashbacks to WWII.

    I loved the Martin Booth book (AKA "Gweilo"), that was a good read. Will look at Hiroshima Joe.

    there is the Yellow Thread series by William Marshall

    Never read them and never seen the TV series - Although showing on Now TV Channel 517 at 7:00PM on Fridays

    The Chris Pattan books are much more readable than you would think.
