    Where are you from?

    I am bored.

Let's start a new poll. What continent are you from?

Why? We already did the "where do you call home" poll. What exactly does "from" mean anyway.

I think it's an interesting one even if it was done previously a while ago.

Don't want to be picky, but how about calling Oceania "Australia/NZ/etc"? I doubt most people will really be able to make the connection quickly otherwise..

Also there is a point about "from"... Whilst I've just voted according to where I was born, heaps of people I have met in HK seem to have been born one place, educated somewhere else, and worked in several other places.. making my background feel quite boring in comparison!

The poll is about continents, and "Australia/NZ/etc" isn't a continent. Probably the people who come from there know what Oceania is.

But I realise that I should have separated Asia into two: 1) East and Southeast Asia, and 2) South Asia, since there are probably lots of Indians around. Also, Asia is too diverse and its history too unrelated to make sense calling it a continent. I suggest we all write to the IAC (International Association of Continents) to ask to split Asia in 2.

And also some are from HK itself. It'll be interesting to know how many people on Geoexpat are actually local who have never been overseas to study or work.
