    Interpreter/Guide Required

    Hi Everyone,

My wife and I are travelling to Shenzhen in a few months and would probably find it helpful to have an Chinese/English speaking interpreter/guide for a day or so. Could anyone suggest where we might find such a person that wouldn't charge and arm and a leg? A student maybe?

    Thanks.

    Byn

If you don't speak Putonghua or read CHinese, you will definitely benefit from a guide/translator. BTW, if needing a place to stay, I have a contact with a fellow who has western style (generally) flats taht are clean, nicely appointed and inexpensive. Just ask ;-)

    Hi JJexpat,

Thanks for the reply. I've already made accommodation arrangements but if you'd like to give me some details I'll be more than happy to look into it for next time. Do you have any ideas where I might locate a guide/interpreter?

    Thanks.

    Byn

How long are you going to stay in Shenzhen?
If you stay in a hotel, you can always book english-speaking day tour or guide.

    bynoseau,
do u think you can leave a message here http://www.bluetec.com.cn/asp/mymandarin/bbs_index.asp
and request someone can speak english in ShenZhen to help you. Maybe you could get someone in Universities of SZ, better major Eng, who wants to practice oral with foreigners and also get some small money in return.
