    Suitcases on buses

Why do bus drivers frown on letting u on if u have a suitcase?
Appreciate if the bus was heaving and no room but when it isn't busy, they still give you that look as if you've asked them to drag the bloody thing onto the bus!

Whats the issue...or am i missing something here.

Airport buses - not a problem. Normal buses, I can see it being a problem as they are crowded enough as it is. Having a big suitcase block the aisle just adds to the problem, although if the bus is half empty, then it should be ok.

Depends on the bus - some are designed with space for luggage (airport routes mainly, plus some that connect to them) and others aren't. On the ones that aren't the rules are clearly stated on each bus:

    From http://www.nwstbus.com.hk/_common/im...PXinfo_eng.jpg

Each passenger is only allowed to carry on board a package or packages of total weight not exceeding 5kg and total volume not exceeding 0.1m^3, which shall not contain any dangerous or offensive substances. The bus captain has the right to refuse to permit any person carrying package(s) that failed to comply with the above requirements to travel on board. Any package(s) carried on board shall not occupy any seat and shall not be placed in the gangway or stairway of the bus.
    And for KMB/LongWin
    2. Why don't bus captains allow passengers to carry bulky goods on board?

Bulky goods may be dislodged while the bus is in motion, and thus cause a hazard to passengers and to the driver. Passengers may not carry goods larger than 0.1m3 or goods which will pose any danger to passengers. Passengers taking Long Win "E/S/N" routes may take on board one piece of luggage with a maximum size of 71x56x26cm (28x22x10 in). Long Win "A" route passengers may carry one piece of luggage with a maximum size of 71x56x26cm (28x22x10 in) and one piece of hand luggage with a maximum size of 56x36x23cm (22x14x9 in) on board.

If the volume of goods is less than 0.1m3, such as a computer monitor, passengers should wrap it up properly before carrying it on board, and should not put it on a seat, but place it where it will not cause inconvenience to other passengers.

Or in Jimbo's case, a legion of slaves to carry him in his gold-clad throne

I've got on a bus with a suitcase before - because I couldn't get a cab and was running late! It wasn't a problem.
