they have named it "Ten"??
That is only the designation given by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, if the system develops further (i.e into a tropical storm), an "official" name will be assigned to it (i.e. Typhoon Kai-tak).
Just out of curiosity, for you Brits, has a hurricane or tropical storm ever reach the shores of UK? If I am not mistaken, 99% of all hurricanes and tropical storms in the Atlantic disappear by the time it passes Newfoundland (assuming it recurves along Florida, then up the eastern coast of the US following the gulf stream).
