25 pollution convictions recorded in June

The Environmental Protection Department recorded 25 pollution convictions in June.

Five were related to air pollution, eight to noise control, eight to waste disposal, two to water pollution, one under the Ozone Layer Protection Ordinance, and one under the Product Eco-responsibility Ordinance.

The heaviest fine was $50,000, assessed against a construction company that used powered mechanical equipment without a valid construction noise permit.
