the main advantage to autopay is you wont forget.
I forgot my credit card bill once in uk and that was disastrous because i usually pay it off in full... I got charged a shit-load of interest and it affected my 'status' in the future since i was no longer a 'reliable customer' (I'm sure it wasn't good for my credit rating either)
but now i have a wife i never forget a thing except birthdays and anniversaries :P
Guys, my question is How to get duplicate receipt from 7 -11 ??
Don't misunderstand. I agree with PDLM's statement on the advantageous of autopay. However, for those people who do not wish to use autopay, they can choose PPS instead of paying for bills OTC like the 80s.
For fixed amount bills or credit card bills, PPS can arrange recurrent payment so one does not need to worry about forgetting to pay bills. It's more of a problem for variable billing.
The perfect solution is autopay but with a set monthly limit for each merchant and anything over that limit requires SMS confirmation from the user.
Has nothing to do with money - I don't like autopay for a few reasons. First the payment dates are all on different dates. I get my paycheck on a set date each month and will pay all my bills in one go after I get my paycheck. Now I don't live paycheck to paycheck but I do invest all of the money so liquidity needs to be pre-arranged (and yes I invest every last dollar) because let's face it - interest is interest (and I move it back to my home country's currency)
But my problem with autopay is not really with water or electricity but more stuff like my AMEX bill etc. Also I find in the past with autopay you tend to not pay attention to money leaving your account - this way I do better bookkeeping
Can't see how paying at 7-11 is such a hassle. Go in to buy fags/paper and pay. Must take all of 30 seconds out of your busy life.
