    Wink Hiking at Nam Shan

Have anyone done hiking at Nam Shan before? It is a trail about 70km (5hrs). I would like to do one soon, like to hear some experience...

If you can do 70km in 5 hours then I reckon you won't find many people to keep you company.

There are various trails from Nam Shan - the Lantau Trail (the 70km one), some gentle walks down the back way into Mui Wo, and various walks down onto the Chi Ma Wan peninsula.

have never done the hike but I imagine this time of the year is not exactly the best time to go hiking. Wait until October.

If you didn't think about the weather, you're definitely not ready to do a 70km hike, especially in the summer heat.

Check out hktrampers.com. A good informative site. Suggest you start with small hikes of an hour or so and build up. I suspect you will find upon further investigation that the 70 km in 5 hours refers to mountain biking. However get out & enjoy the outdoors, it's fun. Get with a group who have some experience & they can ease you into it.
