    Well, let me take this one a step further....

    You know you lived in Hong Kong for too long when you know to space yourselves out at a restaurant table such that there is no room for any others to join your table.

    Leaving two empty seats open for a noodle slurping stranger to sit down is a rookie mistake, when all you need to do is place a back pack in the empty space, spread out more and not make eye contact with anyone

    Reminds me of the time I was dining at the original Din Tai Fung in Taipei . . . the waitress brought a laminated instruction sheet with pictographs (think safety card in the seat pocket of airplanes) on how to properly eat a Xiao Long Bao. I sent the instructions and the waitress away with a scowl on my face.
