US 3 to 2 prong converter

I know that there is a good chance I won't find this anywhere in HK, but does anyone know if I can buy a adapter to be able to plug a 3 prong US plug into a 2 prong US plug anywhere?

I'd start and end my search on Ap Liu street in Shum Shui Po. The gadget market and electronics parts stores like WECA would be good to look around and see what you can find.

    [pedantic]You cannot plug a plug into a plug![/pedantic]

Depending on the circumstances, you could always just take a hacksaw to the ground pin!

Omitting the ground connection, if it's on the device, is a really bad idea.

Same as plugging it into a 2 pin adapter!

Also, I did add "Depending on the circumstances"!

If you can't find a direct one, you could get a US->HK/UK adapter and then HK/UK->US adapter (2 pin). Sort of daisy chain the adapters. Not really the best solution though.

Based on some of these replies, I suggest you buy a fire extinguisher as well.

I do have to ask, umm, what are you trying to do? Plug something into the shaver outlet in your bathroom that probably shouldn't be plugged into there?

    Basically here is my situation,
I just moved to HK. A family member who didn't really understand international electric systems gave me an induction cooker to bring over. The induction cooker is 220v with a 3 prong plug. I have a converter, but the converter only takes 2 prongs.

So I wanted to buy and adapter to plug into the converter. I found one yesterday as I was roaming around central, so I bought it. But then I looked and the adapter said it was 220v. I tried plugging the induction cooker into the 220v adapter, which was plugged into the converter, and my machine gave an error code saying the voltage was wrong.

Is it possible that the adapter changed the voltage back to to 220 after the converter changed it to 110?

Also, is this 2 prong to 3 prong converter thing dangerous to do? (Just as dangerous as cutting off the 3rd prong??)

And is it possible to buy a converter that takes 3 prongs?

    Thanks for all the help!

Why are you using a converter if the induction cooker takes 220V?
