You might want to find out about how to use only one decoder box and share it between two TVs in an effort to cut down on the number of streams that your apt can handle. But that will create other tech issues... there's a thread on the tech forum that discusses it.

A few queries: 1) could you tell me what the name of the package was, if there was one, 2) do you know what speed they were offering for the broadband and 3) where did you go to negotiate the deal, because the telephone sales people I've spoken to are useless.

I am in DB but will head to HK Island tomorrow as I haven't seen any NOWtv people for the past week or so out here at the enclave. However I'm just dreading that the same will happen to me... after the effort to negotiate the package and only to find out later that my apartment is not wired to receive two NOW boxes and broadband. Aarrgh.

After last week's meltdown at IKEA's incompetence, I am barely ready for another war with minimum wage staffers who are hostage to their corporate's inefficient and illogical systems in the provision of (somewhat) essential services/product areas. Must go to bed early and rest up.
Have to say that I'm about to give up hope with Netvigator for my broadband. But will have to be patient with NOW TV as they are the only ones show soccer matches, I think.

I'm meant to be getting 6m for broadband with an upgrade to 8m for 228 and close to 30 channels or something like that for NOW TV with 2 decoders. But one of the decoders, I get the free channels and only 2 more channels. But will have to see when will I really get NOW TV. Am told that I might have to wait till end of Aug.

Yeah Sunnie Faith...the same thing happened to us just after we moved to HK (which was in Feb this yr). We signed up for the PCCW contract and then were told there was a "line shortage" in our building. So we had to wait for a month to get both NOW TV & Netvigator Broadband.

We were new to HK back then and didn't know what other options we had. We desperately needed the internet...so we got a package from a local provider in Cyberport...but we basically just had terrestrial TV for a month...I guess it gave us a lot of time to unpack??!!

But thanks guys on all the tips on this thread and another one abt how manipulative PCCW can be. I'll be far more cautious while dealing with them in the future.

Well, you're right about unpacking...I did a great job yesterday! And I watched Bloomberg the whole afternoon as well! And had to try to resort to stealing wireless which unfortunately unsuccessful.

Last night we went to 3 and basically signed up with HGC. Apparently, they're able to provide me the service by 30th Jul so let's see what happens. And they took only 188 from me. And we have no choice but still wait for NOW TV. While we were at PCCW shop trying to get back our deposit, there were another couple that in the exact situation and were mad with them too. When we told them that we were going someone else to get broadband and they told us...'If we can't give you, I'm sure no one else can give you broadband.' That pissed me off so badly that I almost had to raise my voice at them. But how true is that?

no but mine's been having issues.

i'm going to try unplugging the router and disconnecting everything for a few hours. not sure if there is a reset switch (like on a linksys) available but if there is, try pressing that for a good half a minute too.
