    Looking for Fun stuff!

G'day all,i'm about to move to HK with my Girlfriend for her job.I'm a landscaper by trade and was just wondering if there's much call for garden work in HK? I wouldn't have thought there would be myself. I'm also wondering what other cool stuff there is out there that i 'need to see/do?' We'll be living there for 3 yrs on HK Island,Mid-levels. I love English Football also and would love to know if there are many bar's that show games live? I'm looking forward to the move (from Australia) and can't wait to settle in. Is the cable system good there for PC use such as online gaming, downloading etc? Cheers!

For an English speaker, I kinda doubt it. Most people who could afford a garden would either have a full time gardener or someone who does it for them. Most of them would be local Chinese.

Plenty of bars .. plenty of live games ... great internet connections. You'll have a blast, as long as you accept the fact that you're not in Australia and don't whinge too much about missing stuff from back home.

Sounds good! Nup,not a whinge, you're thinking of the Poms!I've lived in a few countries and loved them all. From what i've heard,HK is a lovely country with lots of variety.Cheers.

By the way, how are you getting the right to live in HK? Or are you just goingto come in and out on tourist visas?

I'm travelling on a British passport, and was told to leave every 6 months for a weekend and then return.I may have work lined up on the construction of a new golf course,so hopefully work visa! If your defacto is a sponsored employee, and you prove you have lived together for more than 6 months (we've been living together for 6 years),doesn't that help you to get residency?
