Does anyone know what was going on at Pier 5 in Central this morning? Passed by at 7am and there was a slew of rescue and ambulance vehicles, including a mobile treatment unit, around the pier area.

Under intense pressure to get from DB to Central in 22 minutes (can't be done) the inevitable happened...

It looks like they handled this the right way! Not let any passengers go to get the names and avoid later on claims from people who allege they were on it. From an insurance point of view all this checking negates claims later on including some who find out a few days that it pays to say you are badly hurt.
Vancouver had a ferry crash in the mid 1990s and continued on to the North Van side where our Head office was and let people get off. It was a lot of our staff as it was rush hour. They went to our health unit who had a flood of shaken up folks. Anyone could have later made a claim they were there.
