    Volunteer Work in HK?

    Hello,

Does anyone know of any volunteering opportunities in something health related in Hong Kong? I've checked the Red Cross, but I'm looking for other possibilities as well.

    You could try Caritas: http://www.caritas.org.hk/Caritas_HK...volunteers.asp

Obviously if you have medical qualifications then there will be other opportunities. Speaking Cantonese makes a lot more available than if you don't (as I have discovered trying to organise charity work for teams from my office)

Wow, I guess there isn't much interest for volunteers in HK. I contacted Red Cross, MSF, and Oxfam, and not a single response.

in the monthly Hong Kong freebie the christian action group is always looking for health professionals.. don't get disheartened. sometimes getting through to people, organisations can take a little while...No idea why...sorry to be a bit vague with the group in question.

    Hospice care

I can recommend the Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care (http://www.hospicecare.org.hk/eng/home.html)

They provide a very useful service and organize the annual Hike for Hospice, which is a lot of fun.

    Hope this helps

    Volunteering in Hong Kong

Interested in volunteering in Hong Kong, but don't have a lot of time to spare? Looking for a way to give back to the community, but don't know how? New to Hong Kong and not sure how you can volunteer as an expat?

Hands On Hong Kong (HOHK) helps individuals like you get involved in the community by providing flexible volunteer activities that don't require a minimum commitment. Many of HOHK's activities are in English, ideal for expats, and a great way to meet people with similar interests. We also provide a current listing of additional longer-term volunteer opportunities with our charity partners. Visit Hands On Hong Kong to learn more.
