I'm really concerned here with the type of roof used rather than anything else. I have seen many rooftop houses that use the insulated air-gap structure (often foam-filled) mentioned previously. These do work well. I have in the past also used a structure with a wooden roof that was not too bad when painted white. But glass, even with some kind of insulating layer? I have seen these used on other houses so i know they are out there. I'm just dubious about how efficient they cld be.

The roof I'm referring to is two sheets of aluminium with a polystyrene fill. Windows a double glazed.
