Talking Wedding at Banyan Tree Phuket, any thoughts?

I'm thinking of having my big day there - but would love some friendly advice, suggestions, or shared experiences. Good and bad.

Congrats Sam! I got married in Jan this year at a sofitel property in southern thailand, an area called khao lak. It was a beautiful stretch of beaches and we were actually the first couple ever got married at their resort. They just opened. I looked at several places in Phuket but thought khao lak took the cake because of its tranquil location as compare to main phuket island. Khao Lak is north of phuket, about 1 hr drive, on the west coast.

first, congratulations! no matter which resort you choose, it will be beautiful--so don't worry! we recently went to a wedding in hua hin, southern thailand. here's what i liked about this choice:
    1. gorgeous resort setting, lovely people 2. just an hour or so from bangkok on this super highway, so people could fly in and drive directly rather than having to do another flight 3. with proximity to bangkok, some people from europe/americas stayed in bangkok a few days and did sightseeing/shopping, more value for their money and time spent travelling

i personally love phuket and the banyan tree is exceptional there. but if you're not a 100% sure, good luck because there are so many great options. guess the good thing is that knowing this, you may have some negotiation power.

    best wishes.
