I was astounded to find out that bakeries in Hong Kong didn't sell coffee. Don't people in Hong Kong drink coffee with their Cocktail or Pineapple buns?

- A small yard for BBQ'ing at home
- More restaurants where the cooks and staff match the cuisine, and a wider choice, e.g. a good Dominican restaurant with Dominican cooks, etc.
I do not miss shoveling snow.

I miss...
- being able to buy a proper cup of coffee anywhere
- a nice glass of fresh milk
- cheese
- bread
- proper winters
- DIY stores: i can never find what I need at these 五金店
- patatje oorlog
- frikandel
- mayonaise on my fries!
My Mummy..
I think perhaps the problem is that we DO have M&S - which makes missing the "proper" M&S even more acute. Perhaps if there was nothing it might slip back into the memory ... I didn't miss M&S while I was in Aus or NZ .... on the other hand the supermarkets in Aus and NZ offered a much wider range of food (particularly packaged and pre-made food) so there was at least an alternative!
Since the "proper" M&S groceries not exactly cheap in the UK, can you imagine how much the goods would cost here? Also, the food hall in the Central branch is a lot bigger than the one in Wan Chai, have those who are complaining been to that one? My complaint about M&S would be the frumpy choice of clothes and underwear.
- a nice glass of fresh milk

Since I don't drink milk anymore, I don't know how milk is sold in Hong Kong nowadays. However, when I was growing up in North Point during the 1960s, we used to get fresh milk (in the glass bottles) delivered every morning.
