George W Bush - Potential Miss Teen USA Winner

this gaffe must be endemic to there... just read what Presdent Bush said during the recent APEC summit:

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Even for someone as gaffe-prone as U.S. President George W. Bush, he was in rare form on Friday, confusing APEC with OPEC and transforming Australian troops into Austrians. ADVERTISEMENT

Bush's tongue started slipping almost as soon as he started talking at a business forum on the eve of an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Sydney.

"Mr. Prime Minister, thank you for your introduction," he told Prime Minister John Howard. "Thank you for being such a fine host for the OPEC summit."

Later in his speech, Bush recounted how Howard had gone to visit "Austrian troops" last year in Iraq. There are, in fact, no Austrian troops there. But Australia has about 1,500 Australians military personnel in and around the country.

Upon finishing his speech, Bush took the wrong way off-stage and, looking slightly perplexed, had to be re-directed by Howard to a center-stage exit.

You have had no replies because we're all well aware of Bush's muff-ups. I was watching the opening APEC speeches and when he goofed I thought I was watching The Late Show's "great moments in presidential speeches".

exactly how does one get KIA to deem?

--- a letter to Dubya from a fellow called Sugg from 2002----

    Dear Mr. Bush:
It is quite likely, considering the blank, empty smirk with which you greet the world, that you may not recognize the document I, with humility and not arrogance, update below. The original was the statement of men who staked their lives to affirm our right to live free; and they penned their names in abhorrence of and opposition to a tyrant with whom you share more than a name.
Although the repeated mendacities of your administration are beyond comprehension -- far greater by many powers than your predecessor's peccadilloes with Whitewater, White House travel agents or even Monica's semen-stained dress -- you earn credit for telling one chilling truth. Shortly after your brother enabled your undermining of our democracy by illegally disenfranchising thousands of Florida voters, followed by the five Republicans on the Supreme Court halting recounts and selecting you president, you made a surprisingly candid jest to congressional leaders, saying:

"If this were a dictatorship, this would be a heck of a lot easier." Laughing at your own humor -- a malignant hahaha considering the hundreds of thousands of Americans who have died battling tyranny and totalitarianism -- you then quipped: "Just so long as I'm dictator."

The nation should have paid attention.

    Talking

    sigh
I am fully aware of what deem is [and now even more so after your splendiferous etymological explanation], but what I wanted to know was how does one get our esteemed administrator to deem?
does one slip him a tenner? or send over a case of Sol? These delicate things are worth knowing as there is nothing worse then over bribing or under tippling
Now surely that is a topic sorely in need of its own thread?
I wonder if Kia-ji is in a deeming mood
