    I would also like to know the name of the novel.

    Have you thought about setting up your own website and selling online? My cousin did that a few years ago with his first book. This is just a suggestion, but your wife could offer a copy to, say, HK magazine or SCMP to review and supply details on how to purchase the book , to readers.

    What about "the piano teacher"? Pretty successful book written by a Db housewife. So there, people do read local produce.... And wasn't James clavell of Taipan and Shogun also from HK?

    Piano Teacher wasn't published in HK, but by Penguin or one of the other big overseas publishers. If it had been put out by a local publisher here, people wouldn't have bought it... that's the sad fact about locally published fiction.

    My wife attends some of the regulars meeting of the women in publishing and scbwi... As BB said it ain't easy with a self published book, but don't give up eventually it might work, the more ppl hear about it, the better.

    Natifix, agree with BB here, while the idea seems simple, chances are close to 0.

    It's a tough market.
