Help - likely costs of Buildings Dept. work order appeal

We appealed to the Buildings Department against a work order on an unauthorized structure on our property, hoping we would be able to keep it. They have replied (after a year of occasional correspondence back and forth) saying that they do not agree with our reasons for appeal thus the work order still stands.

This is all fine, and we will destroy the structure, however they also say they intend to charge us costs for appealing.

Does anyone have any idea how much this might be? Very nervous that it could cost a fortune.

Ps. I have contacted the BD already and they have sent off a request to find out likely cost but it will take ages to get a reply.

Taken from How to make an appeal against the decision of the Buildings Department regarding the order / warning notice?

Please take note that under section 51 of the Buildings Ordinance, the Appeal Tribunal, on making an order under section 49(2) or section 50(2) of the said Ordinance, may make such order as to the costs as it thinks fit. The cost of initial proceedings is about $3,000 to $40,000. The cost of the total proceedings can be $60,000 or above.

Lets hope for your sake it's closer to $3,000 than $60,000!
