Registering a kit car in China

Hi all,
I tried googling and searching repeatedly, but never found any info on this subject.
So if anyone knows, please chime in.
Anyone know anything about the status of kit cars in China? or what it would even take to register one?
I'd like to put together a Factory 5 cobra replica for weekend use in GZ or Zhongshan area.
not sure if it would even be allowed.
Tough I have seen one youtube clip about some guy building his own car in China, and he somehow got plates for that home built (and dangerous looking) creation.. unless he just swapped on other plates illegally

Very ambitious project--on so many levels. Have you successfully managed to do anything else on this scale, or is this the first time?

There was a guy with an Ultima GTR in Hong Kong, but I think he moved it to China because it was "ultimately" impossible to register it here. Sometimes its better not to ask how things are done, but you can always ask!
