South Bay Beach

Not sure if this is common knowledge but there's now no cafe at South Bay Beach. There are just two vending machines dispensing a tiny selection of drinks (today no water available).
There was also a sign warning of sea urchins though Mr SS and I didn't see any.

Heard it was happening as having places to sit and perhaps buy a drink was deemed to be "not welcoming to the general public" by our fearless leaders. I bet at least it was a little quieter?

According to Southside magazine which we read at lunch, the tables and chairs were supposed to be "bolted to the floor" !!

yep the owners were not willing to pay the new rent charged by the govt. sad that they had to move near the stanley market, as they had been there for 8 years, a fondly liked spot to hang out, not that the govt gives a shit.

One of the other unreasonable govt requests in top of the huge rent hike was to bolt all of their outdoor furniture down. Now it remains empty, as an unecomical, void.

well done hk govt !
