Why do my wife and I keep getting turned down for credit cards?

    Why not try the other banks (BEA, Bank of China etc.)...

    Really! hmmmmm that's strange - really strange coz once i was approach by those guys in the MTR & i told them i was working in China & the say it did not matter, after filling out those papers gave my passport # - i have a card after a few weeks. well this was like 8yrs. ago i guess they have incurred a lot of bad credits through those years thats why their more stricter now

    i guess me doing my banking/savings with them helped a bit
    it also helps if your autopay wherein the bank your getting your CC

    That might be part of your problem, HK not being your home. I had citi call me after my application to ask if i had a permanent or contract job and how long i was planning to stay in hk.

    yeah, but i guess there still those that are applying & still getting denied. i wonder what happened to the apllication of the TS?
