Laza - You're being taken for a ride.

If she's a 'bbc' AND raised in ol' blighty, or elsewhere west, she'll know she's kinda playing a power game with ya here - checking IF you'll comply Whatever pushes personal buttons, eh... Entertaining

[Moi... 'bbc' gal, and know many such, too.]

But often local guy's man bags are much more feminine looking than their gf's handbag.

I don't understand it either. Women buy expensive designer bags, and they don't want to carry them??! What's the point?

Then choose clothes that do have pockets! Or carry your own bag :-)

Obviously you have no idea what "acceptable dress" is in a business context. Cargo pants it's not. But I do carry my own bag. Indeed, rarely like to let it out of my sight.

    Sounds a little like this:-

I am a Hong Kong Girl with 公主病 (Gung Jyuh Behng) - Cantonese Word of the Week! - YouTube

I would knock that behaviour on the head on day one, or as has been already pointed out you are in for a tempestuous time.
