petition to bring back the rickshaws

what happened to the rickshaws and wtf is this?

seems like, with all the tourist activity in hk recently, rickshaws could make a serious come back given a chance.

anyone have any contacts for the former rickshaw men?

Rickshaws running a limited route from the ferry to central would be great - not that far and saves all that walking along open (hot) walkways. Tourists would love it and business people could get to work faster.

Those sightseeing buses are never even half full.

I would have though with all the passing tourist traffic they would be more popular.

    that's what i'm saying.

even two or three guys standing around with rickshaws could pull in good cash taking photos with tourists.

business for the rickshaw bus would probably go up as well. who wants to ride the rickshaw bus when there are no rickshaws. that's like taking away the star ferry and then painting a star ferry on a bus and calling it a star ferry tour.

The moving of the Star Ferry pier half a mile out into the harbour obviously killed their little remaining business. The rickshaws are now for sale.
