Hiya!
My family (hubby+new baby) will need to move out of our ridiculously cramped one-bedroom apartment in Sheung Wan to a larger place; one preferably with a helper's room. We love the area in which we live right now, as it's centrally-located, a 2-minute walk to the MTR station, close to where all the action is. The fact that it's an older building (built in the early 70's) and renovated means that we have more nett space than the typical "800" sq. ft. layout of HK's newer apartment buildings.
Hubby has looked at a unit in an old building in Tin Hau, which looked fantastic - space, space and space! It's something we might consider.
The only thing is that we don't know enough about the area to want to commit to living there. I've not seen it yet, but the real estate agent told us that it's quiet, for sure. However, it's a lot more local than Sheung Wan.
Anyone with any insights on what it's like in that area, please let me know. We're looking to move by mid-October.
Many thanks!
