    Heater Help

Can anyone suggest anywhere to buy indoor oil or electric heaters.

I have tried the big outlet stores of Fortress, Broadway and Gome, but all seem to have sold out. Is there any smaller shops or independant shops that still have stocks of heaters to buy that people can reccommend?

Where abouts are you located? There are usually several smaller chinese appliance stores that have a cheaper appliances - atleast in non-expat areas / near larger housing estates etc.

There are a few small electrical stores outside of Belchers - Kennedy Town area. Not sure if they have stock of heaters, but I'd look there. Seems to be a general shortage right now, driven by the weather.

Sham Shui Po / Mongkok will also have small electrical stores at the street level.

I have an Italian-made Philips oil heater for sale- 11 "fins" - 2500W; needs a 15 amp outlet (which aircons generally use). My current apt has central aircon so I don't have an outlet for it. I'll PM you details.

Er, why don't you just change the plug to a normal one? Sockets here are generally rated to 13A which is fine for 2500W (being about 11A).

Hi KnowItAll. Took your advice at lunch and headed out to some of the local shops. Found one near work that had just received a new shipment of heaters in.
Thanks again for your help. Here's to warmer days!

Can you give us the address? What kind/brand heaters did they receive?
    Thanks
