    Mouldy Curtains

    Hi,
Help!! Our curtains are getting mould spots all over them and I am not sure what to do?? Will washing them help or should I take them to get dry cleaned? Worried about when we go away for six weeks over the summer break what state the curtains will be in when we get home. We are planning on buying a dehumidifier ASAP, but we can't run that whilst we are away. Would appreciate any suggestions!
    Many thanks.

Welcome to the HUMID & WET Climate of Hong Kong ... great for the skin but horrid for mold.

I suggest washing and/or dry cleaning then if you don't already have one use a dehumidifier - I pretty much have mine going a few hours a day. Possibly other have a suggestion for when you are away at longer periods of time.

Also, suggest that you look at the local Japan Home Store or other shops like it to get moth balls / dehumidifier containers to absorb the moisture in your closets/wardrobes as well.

Yup use the disposable containers for whilst you're away I'd suggest with buying one for each room oh and lay some newspaper down on your sofa as well as the paper helps soak up the moisture.
