I thought that I'd pass this along:
Civic Party Debate: open forum on the Race Discrimination Bill
We will discuss whether it is better for the Legislative Council to pass the seriously-flawed bill currently under consideration by the Bill's Committee, than not to pass it and so have no race discrimination legislation at all in Hong Kong for the foreseeable future. Those taking part will include the Hon. Margaret Ng, barrister, legislator and chair of the Bill's Committee, Vandana Rajwani, barrister and founding member of Hong Kong Against Racial Discrimination, and Dr. Kelley Loper, research assistant professor in the Faculty of Law, at The University of Hong Kong. A moderated discussion will follow briefings on the bill, and participation from the floor will be actively encouraged.
Do come along and take part in this important forum!
Date: Monday 31 March 2008
