    transborders legal questions

    Hi

Wondering what help we can expect from mainland authorities for issues raised in HK, after the perpetrator crosses the border ?

Could we expect police there to act if a person thieves significant amount of money/goods from a company/individual? or is there any recourse against a mother who goes to China with her child without asking the father who lives in HK?

    Thanks
    Luis

Just about sums it up if the wronged person tries to take action themselves. The only way to have any chance is to have a judgment proven against them in HK and then lobby for the HK authorities to take cross border actions.

In both cases it would require deep pockets and lots of patience.

The only other way is to track them down and do a snatch back I think. Once they are back in HK then you have the judgment in your favour at least.

Thanks for the replies, I wished I'd read Chowfun's post though. It sure looks like preventive action is better, but easy is not the first word that comes up...
