Nah, he knew that would happen and still did what he felt was right. That's success to me...

I would say failure is giving up making a difference for the future due to irrevocable past colonial history.

    Sent from somewhere....

I don't think he wants to return to his home country. Everything he did, he did because he choose to....how is that failing?

hmmm...it sounds like you think somebody in this thread hasn't moved on from the past...

it's clear you haven't been following the thread, I said history is history, we must deal with our circumstances.

nice try though, someday you'll get to take a proper shot at me

I have moved on from the past...I just don't have any respect for a certain kind of people....

A bit like this you said a few days ago?

Maybe when you are older you will know better what happens in the real world.

Are you aware colonization has long term effects? Colonialism doesn't just end when the perpetrators decide to pull out after they've finished inside whatever country they've occupied. During colonialism, the English were in power and set an example for the rest of Hong Kong to follow.

I stated the effects of colonization and I said the English were not good role models.

What part of that quote implies I haven't moved on?

So you're saying the english aren't good role models because hkers aren't racist?

Or hkers are racist because the english are racist?

    Which is it?

Is you think HK is racist?
How would you feel if locals routinely came into your neighborhood and shouted anti-foreigner slogans at you???

anti-foreign ultraconservative group that has recently gained attention for staging repeated demonstrations in an ethnically Korean neighborhood.

No one is saying that hk is the only racist place on earth.

But ask any brown skinned person in hk if they have experienced racist behaviour here and most (I hesitate to say 'all', but it wouldn't surprise me) will say yes.
