    Yes, the Northwestern Pacific basin (where we are-East and South East Asia) is the most active tropical cyclone basin in the world (i.e. on average has the most storms), accounting for a third of all tropical cyclones in the world, followed by the Northeastern Pacific (the area off southern Mexico):
