The Inter-Islands ferry is probably the least rough-seaworthy of the major ferries out there, so I can see that they'd want to get it in a shelter before the wind turns to be driving off the open sea in the area around Cheung Chau.

Actually, the Tuen Mun-Tung Chung-Tai O ferry was suspended this afternoon from the 4pm sailing onwards. That's probably the least seaworthy of all the open water (i.e. not inner-harbour) ferries I've been on here, so I can understand that.

3pm this afternoon and Sam Shing harbour was already absolutely rammed with fishing and crane boats....told me enough...

Both Chinese and HKO observed Utor heading NWN in the last hour.
So landfall over Guangdong at 1700 hrs tomorrow. That looks almost close enough to Hong Kong for a T8 signal.
