Thank goodness. It was so darn hot and humid the last couple of days you just did'nt want to go outside at all.

And the thing is, I actually like both of you since you two do make some interesting and insightful posts every now and then. But whenever you happen to cross paths, it's like you are trying to mow each other down with pointless drivel.

Anyway, back to topic. I dropped my wife at the airport this morning as she had a business trip. The flight wasn't cancelled but delayed. I ventured to HAECO on the other side of the airport to see how bad the wind was in a exposed location (maybe not the smartest move, but oh well). And boy the wind moved me several feet on a number of occasion and I was almost knock down once. But it was interesting to watch the planes land. Their wings were rocking back and forth and they were "crabbing" at an angle (actually pointing at me rather than the runway...until the last minute). It gave you the impression the plane was about to land over you instead of landing on the runway. But I did'nt see any missed approaches, so my hats off to the pilots for their skill and professionalism.
I'm sorry you have to witness this too. But when you have an internet stalker, what can you do? A stalker who is so oblivious that he can't see the contradictions in his own statement. A stalker that clearly lack all sense of logic. You see, I don't go out of my way to bother him, but he keeps coming. Like a moth to the flame. And he has yet to point out a single piece of drivel I said in this thread despite his claim. Isn't that telling?

I liken you to one of those schoolkids that used to have to go home earlier from the park than the rest of us but wouldn't leave your football behind for us all to play with. Is it possible, in any way, shape or form that you can read a post which has even just a smidgeon of a contrary opinion to yours and not feel the need to respond to it in some kind of patronising or condescending fashion or better still not just respond to it at all because there is really no need ? Hmmmm how are you going to deal with this one eh ?

Anyway back on the real thread diversion topic. The NT rocks. OK, I'm only on the peripheries here in Clearwater Bay but that's good enough for me. A pleasure to leave Hang Hau behind and once we hit Silverstrand roundabout high rise is a thing of the past. The only thing I really wanted from this whimper of a T8 was something strong enough to whip down the trees which slightly obscure my bay view. Didn't happen in any previous one or the T10 so I guess I might have to resort to some sawing action in the middle of the night.

It's pretty much 50 minutes door to door for me each way and I also exit at an MTR that isn't blessed with a walkway from there to work. I enjoy the rain though and unless it is hammering it down I'm partly sheltered on my 10 min walk from MTR to work. Only once got to work as a drowned rat.

I can wake up, sit on the balcony with a cup of builders tea (trained the maid very well), and watch dawn break, listening to the birds singing without the noise and the smell, unless the wind is blowing in the wrong direction. It's actually a much more relaxed approach to the start of my working day than it would ever have been back in the UK.

You see TankerMan, this is what I'm talking abou when I say HC lacking logic. My point was that Moving really can't say this was the lamest T8 ever when her position on the boat may not be representative of what it is like for other parts of HK. In other words, her boat isn't the centre of the world, or the centre of this storm for that matter. OK, maybe I made that point a bit too harshly, but it is valid point. But poor little HC can't seem to comprehend such as basic point. Pity, pity.

I wasn't directing that comment to you specifically, but if you feel offended, my apologies. .

Anyway, glad to know you are trying to make the best use of this typhoon day.

Well it's not my fault that people can't stand blunt remarks is it? Personally I think people should stop being so sensitive and grow thicker skins for a change .

It's a valid remark whether some people like it or not. Or would you rather have me say something that is patently untrue (Moving's condition on the boat is representative for all of HK) so as to not hurt other people's feelings?

Some people on geoexpat just can't stand the truth, and try to have any inquisition against me. The Catholic Church punished Galileo for saying the Earth orbits the Sun, but that doesn't change the fact that the Earth does orbit around the Sun, does it?

Some people on geoexpat just can't stand the truth, and I rest my case on that.
Why say anything? Nobody said moving's condition on the boat was representative of all HK.

I am not saying everyone agreed with moving, but I just pointed out her errors. Or is it forbidden to express a disagreement over a view?

You can disagree with the manner in how I said it, but you cannot say I was wrong in my view.
