LMAO.
Yes, you can eat cheaply in Manila .... but the quality of the restaurants is dire. There ARE some good ones (Greenbelt for example) but on the whole, most are awful.
You get searched for guns on entry to every shopping mall, office building, hotel ....
Much corruption and need to pay "facilitation fees" to get your phone connected etc etc etc
Plus it's dirty, traffic is DIRE, public transport is slow, crowded and dirty.
You can't compare two cities on cost alone!

hello?? this was not about hong kong vs manila. this was more about all the people who try to compare ANY city in the world against any other. the above tool can help (but not replace a visit onsite)

cookie09, great tool to look at comparisons for reference.
this page will probably be better for others to look at as you choose Manila, ppl assumed its for Manila vs HK only
