    Abuse of Indonesian Maid.

A Hong Kong couple was sentenced in District Court on Wednesday to jail for systematically abusing their Indonesian maid over a span of two years.

Why not add it to the old topic?

And why not add a link to the news?

This is too horrible. They made her wear see through plastic bags instead of clothes. You know I often see very unhappy maids in tow at supermarkets. Madam children and desperately unhappy looking maid cringing in the back ground. You just want to reach out and hug them they look so desperate. Maybe someone has a phone number or something we can slip them, if they are in trouble they can call.

Good! Hopefully this will act as a deterrent.

Sad, that's all I can say. It's 2013, time for Hong Kong to evolve and away with this 20th century practice. It is wrong and deep down everyone knows it

Serves them right for such cruel abuse, hope they both get gang raped in prison.

Presumably she now has 14 days to find another employer or leave... And in any case she'll need to pay another several months salary in kickbacks to corrupt Indonesian agents and consulate staff.
