In Shenzhen . . . wind ranging from howling to roaring. Occasional BOOM! as well. Seems the most violent gusts are hitting the west side of the building.

Had the pleasure to take the absolute last flight out of HK on 7.30pm. If there wasn't a tyfoon alert, you wouldn't have noticed anything different during take-off. Fun to walk around in a near empty airport though!

Well Cathay are anticipating running from around midday. That suggests to me yet another 10am lowering damn jet lag. Just woken up and apart from heavy rain there is next to no wind currently in Clearwater Bay

as of 1am, it's been downgraded from a "severe typhoon" to "typhoon", and previous wind speed at the center have now dropped from 165, to 155, and now 145km/hr.
Hopefully the easing trend continues as it moves further over land.

Position is now approaching Dongguan, then predicted to head north of Guangzhou

Hong Kong Observatory says the T8 will remain up until about 10am when it will be replaced by a T3. This will result in most schools closed but most workers having to arrive at work by noon.
