Why doesn't China leave out the politics and see how it can help??

I know two wrongs don't make a right but I hope that next time China suffers a devastating earthquake, and it's shanty towns built out of spit and sawdust collapse, that the world will remember China's "generosity" to Philippines, and donate accordingly.

    China-shame on you.

So your response is to also be petty and punish the citizen because their government is misguided...Classy!

Citi giving 250k+ USD. The no mandate, no balls, no compassion relating to CY at the end seems about right as well.

Perhaps if the response from the Communist Party and Hong Kong executive had been more proportionate to the disaster in a neighboring country there would not be negative comments. These comments are not about individual contributions but the governments.

You suppose wrong. What is going to "help anyone" is targeted money, supplies and assistance, not politics.

For the record, the Philippines gave US$450,000 plus medical teams in response to the Sichuan earthquake.

    But every penny counts eh?

Do you think this donation is sufficient?

Personally I think it's in bad taste to start comparing who donated what.

Do we know what the value of the 'humanitarian aid' is?

    Get a grip.

    No, US$100,000 is bad taste.

But all over the world people will be looking at the tables and see China at the bottom and draw their own conclusions.

USA have sent an aircraft carrier and the UK a destroyer
