China has generously donated US$100,000 towards the disaster fund, as the SCMP points out, well below every other contributing country.
Why bother, it's almost insulting.
"In face of disaster, let Hong Kong's kindness prevail" total joke.

That IS disgusting!
why would they do that? better than nothing but not by much. I am sure there are individuals who will donate more.
Childish China for you...
Better than nothing I suppose, Always looking at the negative of everything is not going to help anyone.
China's aid is related to politics... unfortunately they are unable to differentiate between politics and humanitarian need.....
After a magnitude-7.7 earthquake struck western Pakistan in September, China quickly offered more than $5 million in supplies and other aid to its longtime strategic partner. When a similar magnitude-7.1 earthquake struck the Philippines in October, China’s embassy announced $80,000 in relief through the Red Cross.
How predictable! A disaster turning into a typical China bashing session. Why don't you just leave out the politics and see how you can help the victims. Every cent helps.
Politics often play a big part in humanitarian aid in many countries including the US. We could talk about Rwanda, Sudan, Cuba to get started.
Also worth noting that your very rich country who has a military budget greater than all other countries combined comes quite low amongst developed nation when it comes to foreign aid per capita or relative to its GNP.
I agree with the last poster, instead of wasting your time in China bashing and toothbrush waste, perhaps you can do something more useful and positive.
