    Go Abroad - HELP -

From the forum, it seems that a lot of you are so happy working abroad. I have always wanted to do the same but never have a chance. Now, I decided to work on it and find a way to do so.

However, I have no idea where to find the information. And I hope you can help, although I am a local chinese who is wanting to go abroad instead of someone wanting to come to HK. Any help would be appreciated!

    Firstly

Where would you like to go?

Assuming you need a work permit to work there do you have the required skills and experience necessary to be able to get a valid permit?

Many people will be happy to help you but I suggest you give some details and ask some direct questions.

    Thanks :)

Thank you for the quick replies

I would like to go to some western countries which are far away from Hong Kong like US, Canada and European countries.

I am working in IT (system & computer networking) for 6 years and speak decent English.

    Some of my questions are:
-where can I find some job opportunities?
-what should I do to improve the chance of working abroad?
-do foreign companies recruit people from HK? (I know lots of foreign companies tranfer their staff to asia countries but I seldomly heard that they recruit people from other countries to come. Moreover, considering the current US economy...)
-any people/agency/consultants I can contact for help?

    THANKS!

Try checking the consulate websites. The UK one in HK.(britishconsulate.org i think) lists the latest requirements for a visa.

Then if you qualify start contacting companies in that country.

Also, depending on your age you may qualify for a "tourist/work" visa in some countries like Oz and NZ. not sure what they officially called but basically get 12mth and can work whilst you there.
