Where do you get your HK local news?

Starting to write a blog, so needs lots of online HK local news resources. It seems unless you subscribe to SCMP, the news is just broken up into breadcrumbs all over the net. They'll be bits on Yahoo, The Standard, etc, but I've found things being missed out in English.

I have local friends and family keeping me up to date on certain issues in HK, but then trying to find an English article online relating to it can be a dead end. Same as watching that Apple Daily stuff.

So where do you guys get your local HK news from?

Eventhough $20 per week isn't all that much, but what I've heard about SCMP, it might be better not to bother.

Sent from my GT-N7100 using GeoClicks mobile app

Most mornings I check The Standard for information about what is happening in town. I check RTHK twice a day for local, mainland and overseas news.

Do you mean a site like http://hongkonginformer.com/

The chrome add-on is very good for the SCMP but it is also quote simple to sign-up for a bunch of RSS feeds into a RSS reader. The simplest for full text RSS is the Sparse reader for Android. Signing up for Government news feeds does allow you to see some HK news that the local media wont report on (for various reasons). Just click the links below. Identify the feeds you want and copy the URL into your feed reader

    HK Gov Feeds
    http://www.gov.hk/en/about/rss.htm

    Other news feeds for HK
    http://blogs.wsj.com/hong-kong/feed/
    http://www.scmp.com/rss
    http://rthk.hk/tools/rss/index_e.htm
    http://webb-site.com/rss.asp
    http://biglychee.com/blog/feed/

there are few other niche blogs that have RSS feeds also.

Thanks for all the suggestions, esp the Chrome extension and the HK Informer link.

Have never really used RSS feeds, will have a look into them.

Aside from the good ones already mentioned, I use google alerts.
I have alerts for various combinations "hong kong heatlh" "hong kong school" "hong kong smuggle" "hong kong death" etc etc -- I get alerts and skim thru them to see anything interesting....

Bad Canto is a good source, even has videos with English subtitles.

It doesn't hurt if you can read some canto (like me). Granted, my Chinese reading skills is far from fluent, but I know enough to understand the headlines and certain items in the news articles.
