    PCCW Residential Line

    Pricing question regarding residential line:
(Internet is sorted and dont want cable).

Our RTL contract is coming to an end and PCCW are suggesting
    - $128 per month (no commitment)
    or
    - $128 per month 2 year contract gives me $300 Wellcome vouchers

Is this a decent deal? Should I look around at other providers?

New World: Home Connect Tariff Table

Think you can terminate with one month's notice.

Thnx Claire - I know cell numbers are transferable, are home numbers the same? Can I keep my number or do I have to get a new one?

In principle they are portable. I've never done it though, and don't think I know anyone who's ever done it.

Edit - OK, I don't know anyone who's done it on a residential line...

Yes, they are. We've ported our office number a couple of times PCCW - HGC - New World when we've switched fixed line / T3 type range. Still have our original number from 10+ years ago.

Yeah, you need to sign a Notification of Service Disconnection (NSD) form.

Depending on whether you make lots of international calls or not, every time I re-sign a contract with PCCW, they give me abt. 500 minutes of IDD calls to US, UK, China, etc. per month which to me is worth than supermarket coupons.
